| SUBJECT | : | Suspension of Issuance of Land Use Conversion Clearances |
You are hereby directed to temporarily suspend the issuance of land use conversion clearances and certifications until the DAR issues its new/revised rules and regulations on land conversion.
The suspension shall cover the granting of land conversion clearances and certifications. The agencies concerned, however, may continue to accept and process existing/new land conversion applications and request for clearances or certifications.
The DAR is hereby ordered to release the new/revised rules and regulations on land conversion, consonant with the principles of sound agricultural development and food security, the sustainable use of land resources and protection of the tenurial status of small farmers and occupants, not later than March 30, 1999.
